Nadia Sawalha breaks down over body image in emotional video
Loose Women's Nadia Sawalha broke down while sharing a motivational post about body image on Instagram.
The TV presenter shared an inspirational video discussing the fact her cellulite was on show while she was wearing a swimming costume, to encourage other women to embrace their bodies.
Though, the 54-year-old revealed it took a lot of courage to share the post to her 143k followers.
Behind the scenes, Nadia broke down in a YouTube video admitting her fears about the Instagram post, with husband Mark Adderley by her side for support.
She said: ‘I know a lot of people will look at it and think why did she do that?’
She continued: 'I'm trying to do the message. But, I don't think I have the courage to do the message. That's the thing. I find it scary as sh**!'
When talking about attitudes towards body image, Nadia said: ' I just really want things to change.'

The TV presenter also shared her concerns that her two daughters would be ashamed and embarrassed by her post.
Alongside the first post shared on Instagram Nadia wrote: ‘WARNING ⚠️ this video contains graphic footage of the dreaded condition known as cellulite . You may need to avert your eyes as it’s so hideous many of you who may have loved/liked or loathed me may fundamentally change the way you think about me !!! Ridiculous statement right ?? But unfortunately it’s the way I’ve felt for decades .’
She continued: ‘Years ago some photos were published of me in a newspaper of me and my sister in bikinis playing in the sea having the time of our lives . Yes I was overweight but so the f*** what ! The papers headline and went something like how dare she go on the beach in a bikini looking like that ! Sadly even though I laughed it off it’s been like a worm in my brain for years ! Always embarrassed by the pool , never wearing shorts , always covered up !
‘@loosewomen body stories did a huge amount for my body confidence but I haven’t been able to shake the ‘shame’ of my cellulite ! But you know what I’m now sick and tired of being sick and tired so from this day forth no more shame for something that at the end of the day doesn’t say a damn thing about me as a person it’s just a physical thing !
‘I’m not going to lie I almost didn’t post (got in a right old pickle about it !) this but it was my daughter @maddiemaddieee saying ‘mum I don’t see what’s wrong with cellulite ‘ with such innocence that gave me my wake up call !!
‘No more shame . Done . Signora Cellulita I’m going to be kinder to you you’re just part of me !! Bloody hell it took me long enough ?!!.’
Though, friends and fans were quick to praise the presenter for being so honest about her body.
One wrote: ‘Proper sexy, Nads 😍 I love this post so much ❤️❤️🙌.’
Another added: ‘Well done for posting beautiful lady IV had it for years and only now at 56 do I think what the hell!!!xx💞.’
Though admitting in her Youtube video she would not leave her Instagram post up for long, Nadia continues to spread the message that women should be proud of their bodies, as the Instagram post still remains on her profile - and now has more than 14k likes.
Well done Nadia!
