Winona Ryder reveals she and Keanu Reeves may have accidentally got married 25 years ago!
Could this be the latest surprise celebrity marriage?
Winona Ryder has revealed she may have secretly married Keanu Reeves 25 years ago, and that nobody knew about it – not even the stars themselves!
Winona and Keanu, 53, starred alongside each other in Bram Stoker’s Dracula in 1992, with Winona’s character Mina marrying Keanu’s Jonathan Harker in a Romanian wedding.
But Winona, 46, isn’t entirely sure the wedding wasn't real!
While promoting their upcoming film Destination Wedding, Winona and Keanu spoke to US publication Entertainment Weekly and joked about their unintentional marriage.
Winona told EW: ‘We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to God I think we’re married in real life.
‘In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola, the film’s director] used a real Romanian priest.

‘We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we’re married.’
During their shared interview, Winona reminded Keanu of their ceremony and their ‘I dos’. Keanu, who had forgotten all about the scene, asked his co-star: ‘We said yes?’, to which Winona responded, ‘Don’t you remember that? It was on Valentine’s Day.’
Realising that he may have tied the knot with Winona without knowing about it, a shocked Keanu concluded: ‘Oh my gosh, we’re married.’
Although both actors have been in relationships since their ‘wedding’, neither have committed bigamy, so there’s a chance they may be legally wedded – at least in Romania!
Winona was engaged to Johnny Depp for 3 years in 1990, and has since dated Soul Asylum singer Dave Pirner and actor Matt Damon. She has been with fashion designer Scott Mackinlay Hahn since 2011.
Keanu Reeves was in a relationship with actress and PA Jennifer Syme in the late 1990s. The couple broke up in 2000.
Winona has previously spoken about not wanting to get married. In 2016, she told Net-A-Porter: ‘I’d rather never have been married than been divorced a few times.
‘Not that there’s anything wrong with divorce, but I don’t think I could do it if that was a possibility.’
Happy Silver anniversary guys! Um, we think...?
