The Great British Bake Off's Ruby Tandoh is engaged
Ruby announced the happy news on Twitter
The Great British Bake Off finalist Ruby Tandoh has revealed that she and her girlfriend are engaged.
Ruby, who appeared on season four of the BBC baking competition, shared the happy news by retweeting a picture that her partner Leah had posted of the pair along with the caption 'we're getting MARRIED'.
The couple's followers were quick to reply with congratulations, with one tweeting: 'Oh my gosh you guys 😭😭😭💕 congratulations, beautiful humans! may your future be gorgeous and full of yummy food! 🍝🍕 and a second adding: 'omgggggggggg AMAZING, congrats you two 💖😍💖 cannae wait to see pics of the buffet'.
Ruby has remained low key about the details of the engagement, only responding to the post to tweet replies of thanks, so the couple have not yet opened up about how the question was popped.
Since her time on GBBO, Ruby has written two cookbooks, and is a columnist for high profile titles like ELLE and Vice. She came out in April 2015, tweeting a video of Diana Ross’s disco hit I'm Coming Out and explaining that she had told her parents about her sexuality.
'me to my parents today. feeling lucky and joyful and f r e e. over and Out,' she wrote. 'p.s. for those who thought I fancied Paul Hollywood or that I'd ever bang him to get ahead - Joke's on you, you massive sh*tting misogynists'.
Speaking to Grazia magazine in 2016, Ruby said of her relationship with Leah, whom she'd been with for around 18 months at the time: 'Before we met, I spent a lot of time by myself. It's surprised me how easily I've found room for someone else in what I thought was an insular life.'

She added that the couple were already planning for the future, with a dog (a minature Schnauzer, ideally) and a home of their own on their wishlist - 'with a kitchen big enough for all my pots and pans', naturally.
'We're in it for the long-term,' she told the mag. 'I'm not even worried I'm jinxing it by saying that.'
