Emmerdale’s Liam Fox took to Twitter to announce his engagement to Joanna Hudson.
The actor has played Dan Spencer in Emmerdale since 2011, after making guest appearances in the series as PC Tyrell and Officer Price. Joanne also appeared in the soap last year. She played hospital consultant Miss King, who treated Ross Barton.
Liam announced their engagement on Twitter with a cheeky photo of the pair which he captioned: ‘She only went and said yes…’
Their soap buddies were quick to congratulate them. ‘Omg!! Huge congratulations to you both! Amazing news,’ replied Sandra Marvin, who plays Jessie Grant.
‘Amazing news!’ added Sally Ann Matthews, who plays Jenny Bradley in Coronation Street. ‘She’s not daft, knows a keeper when she sees one. Congratulations both!’
‘Congrats! We’re getting our best hat out from the wardrobe,’ the official Emmerdale account tweeted.
An hour later, Liam took to Twitter again, asking: ‘Now then Westminster Abbey or Stockport registry office??? Can’t bloody decide’.

‘I’m thinking reception in the village hall with lots of balloon shapes,’ a TV pal responded. ‘Congratulations to you both! Lovely news.’
Although Jo and Liam are thought to have been dating for about 18 months, they actually met more than 25 years ago, when they went to Salford University together.
On Valentine’s Day, Liam shared an adorable throwback snap of him and Jo at their graduation in 1994.
Liam was married to actress Nicole Barber-Lane, who is best known for playing Myra McQueen in Hollyoaks, for 16 years between 1999 and 2015.
The former couple have a teenage son called Ben together. Despite finding fame as soap stars, they originally met as trainee teachers at Manchester’s Tameside College.
In a joint statement, they said: ‘It is with much sadness that we confirm the end of our marriage, though our family unit remains strong. We’ll always love and respect each other and are united by our children and family remaining at the centre of our lives.’
