EastEnders' Matt di Angelo reveals he's engaged to Sophia Perry after genius pizza proposal
Matt di Angelo has revealed that he’s now engaged to his partner, Sophia Perry.
The pair went away to the Dominican Republic to celebrate Matt's 32nd birthday, but now they have even more to celebrate as the soap star asked his other half a very important question - and she said yes!
During their idyllic break in the Caribbean, the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant decided to pop the question to his girlfriend of five years, with what has to be one of the best proposals we’ve ever seen.
Not only were they in a beautiful setting on the beach surrounded by clear waters and blue skies, the two also had… pizza!
While sharing the great news on Instagram, Matt jokingly wrote alongside a picture of the pizza and the engagement ring: ‘Got pizza today. ✌🏼 🍕 💍 🍾 🏖’.
Sophia also shared the exciting news on her own page, writing: ‘I 💚 PIZZA... AND MY FIANCÉ @mattdiangelo • 🍕💍🍾’.
Family and friends of the pair rushed to send them lovely messages to congratulate them on their engagement.

Others joked that they never got gorgeous rings with their pizza deliveries: ‘I need to change delivery companies @mattdiangelo I never get sparkly rings with my dominos 😜😆 many congratulations to you and your new fiancée’.
And as Sophie is a wedding planner, someone else also joked: ‘CONGRATS you beautiful pair !! ❤️👏🏼 My advice... Start preparing many answers for this joke... “do you know any good wedding planners?”’
The pair have been together for five years, since 2014. Previously the soap star had dated Strictly Come Dancing dancer Flavia Cacace in 2007, after they appeared together on the BBC show.
Congratulations to the newly-engaged pair!
