Darren Day has split from wife Stephanie Dooley after 11 years of marriage
The couple secretly split in October, just a year after they renewed their wedding vows.
Darren Day has announces that he's split from wife Stephanie Dooley after 11 years of marriage.
Darren Day and his wife of 11 years, actress Stephanie Dooley, announced their shock separation in a statement. It revealed: ‘Stephanie and Darren separated back in October 2018. It is a personal matter that they have chosen to deal with privately. There was nobody else involved on either side.’
The pair renewed their vows just one year earlier, in June 2017, to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary. Comlongon Castle in Dumfries, Scotland, was the venue for both occasions.
At the time, Darren said that his feelings for his wife were stronger than ever, and that the vow renewal ceremony had even surpassed their wedding day. ‘When I looked at Steph today I thought, “I love you so much, the strength we share is even greater now,”’ he told Hello! magazine.
‘My love for her on our wedding day was so strong but what I felt for her at the blessing is a hundred times stronger,’ he added.
Stephanie, who has two children with Darren, a daughter called Madison and a son named Dalton, agreed, declaring that she felt ‘more in love and more committed’ to Darren than ever. ‘Our wedding day was the most beautiful day but during the blessing, it was like everything was intensified,’ she said.
Stephanie previously opened up about the early days of the couple’s relationship, telling OK! magazine: ‘Darren was around people in London who weren’t helping him, so I told him, “You have to decide. Do you want to make this work? If you do, you come and live in Yorkshire with me.” And he did.’
