Coronation Street’s Alison King reveals she is engaged
Alison King has revealed that she is engaged.
The Coronation Street actress, who plays Carla Connor in the ITV soap, announced the exciting news to OK! magazine, revealing the identity of her now-fiancé David Stuckley.
The 46-year-old, spoke out about her IT salesman fiancé for the first time, revealing the details of the romantic engagement that took place while the pair were holidaying with friends over in Portugal.
‘It was just a few days after our one-year anniversary,’ said Alison. ‘I had an inkling he was going to pop the question because he kept putting something on my finger and going: ‘Right, close your eyes and forget this ever happened!’
‘We’d also discussed marriage, too,’ she continued. ‘I think we both went from: ‘No, we don’t ever need to get married,’ to: ‘Oh, we really want to get married!’.’
‘David had booked us a sunset cruise on our own,’ Alison explained.
‘I’d bought him a Rolex as an engagement present too, and I took it along just in case he asked as I had an inkling he would! But as we drove towards the port at Albufeira, there were black clouds over the sea. The taxi driver was like: ‘You’re going on a boat? You’re kidding, right?’.’

‘The crew were all in on the surprise, so they said: ‘We’re not going to cancel, don’t worry!’,’ added David. ‘We got out of the marina and the waves were huge! I wouldn’t have dared to hold the ring in case it flew out of my hands. So I asked them to turn us around and they took us into the marina, where there were no people around.’
He continued: ‘Once the crew had turned off the engine and gone downstairs, I got really nervous and started stumbling over my words. I thought, I’ve got to ask her now, so it was then that I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. I got emotional! I didn’t know what she was going to say.’
‘I said: ‘Yes please,’ and then I gave him the watch!’ added Alison. ‘It was perfect, even though it didn’t go to plan!’.
Big congratulations to Alison and David!
