Girls star Allison Williams confirms split with husband Ricky Van Veen after four years of marriage
Girls actress Allison Williams and Ricky Van Veen have jointly confirmed their split after four years of marriage.
The 31-year-old actress and 38-year-old College Humor cofounder jointly confirmed their separation, with ‘mutual love and respect’, on Thursday after four years of marriage.
In a joint statement, the couple exclusively told Page Six : ‘With mutual love and respect, we have made the decision to separate as a couple. We are grateful for the friendship that we have and will continue to have.’
A source close to the couple told Page Six: ‘Every time I’ve seen Allison out recently, Ricky’s been nowhere to be seen.'
The last time the pair made a public appearance together was at the Oscars in March 2018.
A Page Six source close further confirmed the couple’s differences: ‘Allison really is Type A, a real go-getter. while Ricky is far more relaxed and laid-back. Things just haven’t been going well recently.’
The pair first got together in March 2011 after being introduced by mutual friends and dated for three years before Ricky popped the question in February 2014.

The ex-lovers tied the knot in September 2015 in a luxury ceremony at Brush Creek Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming.
The wedding was attended by 200 guests including Katy Perry, John Mayer, Bruce Springsteen and Seth Meyers – and, the nuptials were officiated by actor Tom Hanks.
A source told People at the time: ‘The magical setting featured a small creek and spectacular views,” the source said about the pair’s nuptials. 'It was a stunning ceremony.’
The pair who lived together in Chelsea, New York are now believe to be living separately.
Though the ex-lover do not have any children, they do share a beloved Golden Retriever, Moxie.
It has not yet been confirmed who will get custody of their beloved pet pooch.
Allison has recently finished filming three-series of the TV adaptation, A Series of Unfortunate Events shown on Netflix.
And, the actress caused a stir among viewers who saw her Netflix horror movie 'The Perfection', with many claiming it was so gruesome it made them ill.
