Leona Lewis announces engagement to boyfriend of eight years, Dennis Jauch on instagram

Former X-Factor winner  Leona Lewis shared the exciting news on her social media page, telling her 538k followers: ‘My heart is singing the happiest song ever’.

The candid black and white shot shows the happy couple with arms draped around each other, with the  sparkler of a ring subtly on show.

The London born singer, 33, excitedly shared how she can't wait to be Dennis' wife, adding: ‘I’m bursting with joy and overcome with emotion that I get to embark on this new adventure with my best friend, my partner in crime, my ride or die! @dennisjauch ‘I dreamed you up and you came true. The most caring, kindhearted and inspiring person I’ve had the privilege to know.💕💍✨💒 now lets go have a big ol’ partyyyyyyyy.’

The groom-to-be and Leona's former back up dancer, also shared the image with his 17.3k followers.

In his caption he describes the moment he met Leona more than eight years ago. ‘When I first laid eyes on this beautiful human… our souls connected in a way, I never knew existed.’

He adds: ‘[Leona has] helped me grow into the man I am today & to see you touch the lifes of so many, inspires me to become the best version of myself.’

Dennis then says that his new fiancée is kind, pure and compassionate. Adding ‘... and you are quite frankly the most beautiful woman I ever got to lay eyes on.’

Ending the caption with: ‘I am happy and proud to announce this next step in our beautiful journey. My wife to be.’

Since the couple shared the happy news, fans have rushed to congratulate the pair.

Another writes: ‘Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Jauch to be. I am absolutely overjoyed on your beautiful news.’

While this fan is sure how stunning Leona would look one her big day, ‘You're going to be a gorgeous bride!’

Another fan jokingly asks if the singing sensation will be taking the mic at her own wedding: ‘May I wish you both all the best... Are you singing at the wedding 😜 congrats x’

Leona Lewis and Dennis have been together since meeting in 2010.

While the pair are notoriously private, Leona admitted to People magazine how desperate she was to share the exciting news with fans.

She said: ‘We are both quite private people. But we wanted to share our happy news with everyone that has supported us and watched our relationship blossom over the years.’
