Jenson Button announces engagement to girlfriend Brittny Ward

Jenson Button has popped the question to his girlfriend Brittny Ward – less than three years after his divorce from first wife Jessica Michibata.

The former Formula One driver revealed his happy engagement news on Instagram on Tuesday, sharing a romantic snap of the couple standing barefoot on a beach.

Gazing deep into each other’s eyes and with model Brittny showing off her diamond sparkler, the couple looked stunning as they opted for formal attire to reveal their news.

Jenson, who wore a dark blue suit, simply captioned the snap: ‘Soon to be Mrs Button’.

Brittny, who looked stunning in a silky navy thigh-high dress, shared the same image on her own Instagram account, also captioning it: ‘Soon to be Mrs Button’.

Fans quickly flooded their comments with messages of congratulations, with one happy person writing: ‘So much love in this photo! Congrats to you both - so happy for you and the beautiful future you’ve decided to share together’.

Another said: ‘Congrats @jensonbutton_22 behind a great man comes a great women.’

A third added: ‘Ayee, congrats! Wish y'all all the happiness in the world and all of your dreams to come true’.

And a fourth commented: ‘Wonderful news JB!!! Huge congratulations to both of you!!’

Earlier this year, Brittny expressed her love for Jenson for the entire world to see after she posted a gushing tribute to him on his 38^th birthday.

She said in January: ‘Happy birthday to my favorite human being! You’ve shown me the type of love that I thought only existed in silly fairly tales.

'I can’t believe I’ve captured my very own unicorn. Never letting go.'

Jenson and Brittny revealed their couple status in March 2016, three months after his split from model wife Jessica.

Jenson and Jessica first met in 2008 in a hotel bar in Tokyo and began dating eight months later.

They became engaged in 2014 after Jenson proposed with a ring reportedly worth £250,000, tying the knot in a lavish Hawaiian ceremony in December that same year.

However, the pair called it quits just one year later.

A statement from the pair read at the time: ‘Jenson and Jessica have decided to go their separate ways and it is very amicable. There is no one else involved.’
