Downton Abbey star Allen Leech reveals he's engaged to actress Jessica Herman

Actor Allen Leech has confirmed that he's engaged to Jessica Herman.

The Downton Abbey star shared the happy announcement with fans yesterday by writing a very romantic message on Instagram.

'Happy Valentine's Day @jessicablairherman. First one as a fiancé! Thank you for saying yes and for making me the happiest,' he said.

Allen went on to tell his followers that he hadn't actually gotten down on one knee on 14 February.

He added: '❤️ (And no I didn't do it today. It's been a while.) xx.'

The picture that Allen uploaded to accompany his post sees the loved-up duo smiling while wearing smart ensembles.

In a bid to treat the world to a peek at her stunning engagement ring, Jessica sweetly placed her hand on Allen's chest.

The 36-year-old's post clearly captured the hearts of his admirers, with lots rushing to let the couple know they were thrilled about the news.

'Congratulations to you both! Such a beautiful couple! ❤️,' said one.

Another added:'This is GORGEOUS! Happy Valentine's Day you beautiful 10 star humans. So happy for you and love you so much ❤️❤️❤️.'

Keen to share Allen's sentiment, his bride-to-be also used the social networking platform to reveal the pair's plans to marry.

'The day you proposed was one of the best days but every day with you is my favourite. I love you! Happy Valentine's Day @therealleech! ❤️,' Jessica gushed.

Allen has been in a relationship with actress and producer since 2016. Before falling for Jessica, Allen dated Sky Sports presenter Charlie Webster.

While the handsome Irish man is best known for playing Tom Branson on the popular historical BBC drama Downton Abbey, Jessica has appeared in numerous hit US sitcoms including Modern Family, New Girl and How I Met Your mother, and she's also worked behind the camera as a producer.
