Teriyaki is a Japanese marinade made up mainly of soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. It is widely available in supermarkets nowadays which makes this fragrant recipe a quick and easy way to add heaps of flavour to a few plain beef steaks. For even more flavour try rubbing grated garlic or ginger onto the raw steaks before cutting them into strips. The tender beef is great served with rice or noodles and Chinese leaves such as pak choi or bok choy. Try serving this next time you're having a romantic night in and are treating your other half to a steak dinner. We promise he won't be disappointed.

Method
- Place the beef strips into a bowl and cover in the teriyaki sauce and sesame oil. Cover in clingfilm and allow to marinate for as long as possible (overnight in the fridge is best)
- When ready to use, heat a frying pan or wok until hot and add the beef and all the juices. Fry for 2-3mins for rare to medium, turning occasionally. If you want the beef well done, continue to cook for 2 more minutes.
- Plate the beef onto a large platter and pour any remaining sauce over. Scatter the sesame seeds and spring onions over and serve.
