Clementine vodka makes a lovely homemade edible Christmas gift that's so much more thoughtful (and delicious!) than a shop-bought bottle - and you only need 3 ingredients! Add a tag with serving suggestions, as it works well topped with prosecco or Champagne for a fizzy twist. Clementines are a real taste of Christmas and you can find plenty of them in the shops over the winter, when they are at their best value too. In fact, you can make this Christmas gift for £5.99, which is cheaper than any flavoured liqueurs you can find in the shops.
Ingredients
- 100g caster sugar
- Zest and juice 1kg clementines
- 400ml vodka
WEIGHT CONVERTER
Method
- Dissolve the sugar in a pan with 100ml water, then bubble for 3-4 mins. Cool slightly, then add the clementine zest and juice, and stir well. Set aside for 24 hrs.
- Strain the clementine mixture into a large jug and add the vodka. Pour into sterilised bottles and keep in a cool place ready for gifting.
Top Tip for making Clementine vodka
To make this into a Christmas cocktail, pour 50ml clementine vodka into a Champagne flute, top with prosecco and redcurrant berries.
