Woman blames Sainsbury’s for burnt cottage pie after she microwaving it for 45 minutes
A woman has slated supermarket Sainsbury’s after she microwaved her cottage pie for a whopping 45 minutes rather than cooking it in the oven.
Kylie Jarman, 20-years-old, from Norfolk took to Facebook to share a complaint to Sainsbury’s about a cooking disaster.
She warned Sainsbury’s shoppers and her Facebook friends not to buy the cottage pie meal as hers ended up cremated after cooking.
Kylie had planned a night in with sister-in-law Sarah McKown. However, the pair didn’t end up having the meal they expected.
Her Facebook post said: ‘Don’t buy cottage pie from Sainsbury’s as this is what happens when you put it in the microwave for 45 minutes.’
Though, it turns out Kylie had mistakenly microwaved Sainsbury’s own cottage pie meal for a whopping 45 minutes, instead of cooking it in the oven.

Her friends soon pointed out Kylie’s hilarious blooper and her post has gone viral on social media.
One Facebook user said: ‘I'm almost certain she's got the microwave instructions mixed up with oven ones, yet still it's sainsburys fault she can't cook 😂😂.’
Another said: ‘45 minutes in a microwave, FORTY FIVE MINUTES 😲 I'm surprised it didn't catch fire.’
Another added: ‘45 mins in the microwave, I’m surprised it’s not radioactive ☢️😂.’
Kylie, speaking to The Sun about her blooper said: ‘The pack had cooking instructions on two sides, one for the microwave and one for the oven.
‘I thought it said 45 minutes in the microwave because it had small writing.
‘I did momentarily think it was a little strange when Sarah tapped in ‘45’ on the microwave but we were so tired and hungry neither of us noticed.
‘We can have a laugh about it now. It's silly but we've had a giggle.'
At least Kylie has good humour and can laugh about her kitchen nightmare – we are sure she isn’t the only one who has made this mistake at some point.
For those of you who do fancy a Sainsbury’s Cottage Pie meal, it turns out it only needs 5 minutes in a 750w microwave, but if you’re cooking from frozen it takes 45 minutes to cook in the oven.
We see where Kylie went wrong. Oops!
