Tesco launches candy cane flavoured crisps (and they're already on the shelves!)
Would you give these a try?
Supermarket giant Tesco has launched what is possibly their most unusual savoury snack yet: candy cane flavoured crisps.
The limited edition product is part of the store's festive offering, but they're already on the shelves, retailing for just £1 for a 150g bag.
'Hand cooked crisps seasoned and dusted with a sweet peppermint flavouring for a sweet and salty taste experience,' the description on the Tesco site explains of the unusual combo.
However, whilst the brand seems pretty confident in their choice to add mint to the savoury slices of potato, some social media users aren't quite as convinced.
'Stop this now, @Tesco,' one disgruntled customer, who'd spotted the crisps in store, wrote on Twitter, whilst a second agreed: 'Just seen Tesco are selling Candy Cane flavoured crisps. I stood by them on curry and pigs in blankets flavours, but I can't defend that.'
Other more adventurous shoppers, on the other hand, were willing to give the candy cane crisps a go: 'As a hardcore candy cane enthusiast, I'm very excited for these Tesco finest hand cooked potato crisps,' one exclaimed.
'Tried candy cane flavour crisps today. Still don't know how i feel about them. Reckon I'd smash through a bag of them if drunk,' another admitted.

Tesco aren't the only shop to experiment with unique flavours when Christmas snack time rolls around.
Back in 2015, Marks and Spencer made headlines by releasing their winter berries and prosecco flavoured crisps, which, at £2 a bag, come complete with edible gold stars and a 'fizzy' bite designed to emulate the popular drink.
Following in their boozy footsteps, Aldi have also rolled out gin and tonic flavoured crisps in the past, as well as their own version of prosecco crisps, seasoned with the bubbly and a hint of elderberry.
