Sainsbury’s is selling a cheese Easter egg and it comes in at only £5
Now that Pancake Day is out of the way it only means one thing – Easter’s nearly here.
Yep, the annual occasion dedicated to pancakes marks the beginning of the 40-day countdown to our other favourite foodie day of the calendar – the day full of chocolate.
But while we all can’t wait to dig into a bit /a lot of chocolatey goodness once Easter Sunday arrives, the last few years have seen new innovations when it comes to the classic holiday eggs.
Just like the nation’s manufacturers used Christmas as an excuse to come up with weird and wonderful twists on traditional foods, the same can now be said for Easter.

And while Marmite-infused chocolate, avocado jellies and a peanut butter filled egg may be weird (and incredibly wonderful) enough for some, it’s about to get even weirder. And most definitely even more wonderful.
Leading supermarket Sainsbury’s is launching an Easter egg made purely out of cheese.

Just what we’ve always dreamed of!
The Cheesalicious Easter Egg is made from 120g of creamy Cheddar cheese sourced from Lancashire farms.
It also comes with a packet of oatcakes and a sachet of chutney for a proper cheeseboard treat.
And the best part? It comes in at only £5 so it won’t break the bank!
‘We’re always looking for new and unique products to offer to our customers, especially during gifting periods throughout the year when people are on the lookout for something special to give their loved ones,’ said Emma Garvey, cheese buyer for Sainsbury’s.
‘The Cheesalicious Easter Egg seemed like an obvious and exciting choice to expand our Easter egg offering and cater to cheese aficionados nationwide. The egg is truly delicious and we can’t wait to see the response from our customers.’
Unfortunately you’ll have to wait just a little bit to dig into this dreamy treat, as it will be on sale from 10th April. You’ll be able to get hold of it online and in Sainsbury’s stores across the country.
