The revamped Percy Pig advent calendar is available now in M&S
M&S have launched the 2019 Percy Pig advent calendar, it’s available now in shops and costs £5.
Grunt for joy, as your favourite sweet piggy pal is back in an advent calendar. The Percy advent calendar has been available on and off since 2013 at M&S, but this year it has a brand new deign and different chocolates inside.
Spoiler alert: Hidden behind the cute cover depicting a joyful Christmas scene of Percy out skating with the piglets are 24 tasty chocolates. Tucked away behind door 25 on the Percy Pig advent calendar, for an extra special Christmas day treat, there is a bag of Percy Pigs.
This year Percy turned 27 years old. Since his introduction in 1992 the iconic sweets have gained popularity and now have over 200,000 likes on the @PercyPig Facebook page. The piggy brood has also grown from the original lone Percy to now include the entire family, from sweet mini piglets to vintage flavoured Percy’s parents. With that many fans it’s no surprise that last year the Percy Pig Advent Calendar was a hit.

Good news for non-meat eaters too: for the first time the Percy Pig advent calendar is suitable for vegetarians. Earlier this year M&S, to much controversy, removed the gelatine from the entire Percy Pig range to make the sweets suitable for vegetarians. In May M&S invited 100 of Percy’s most loyal fans to vote on whether a special edition pack of the original recipe containing gelatine in should be introduced. However this will not be happening as 60% of the fans who took part in the secret ballot were in favour of keeping Percy vegetarian forever.
With an ever-expanding wacky array of advent calendars available, from cheese to popcorn to protein balls, will Percy be top of your list or the one that you pick for your kids?
If the answer is yes and you want to get on your hands on this Percy Pig advent calendar you'll need to pop into store as it's not currently available online. And if you decide to make the journey our sources tell us that if you also try your luck buying a bag of specially-marked Happy Christmas Percy Pigs, you have a chance of finding a Rudolph in the packet that will win you a £50 M&S Gift Voucher! That would make for a very jolly Christmas indeed.
