Morrisons launches new Christmas sandwich but shoppers are divided
Winter is right around the corner, and with it comes a whole host of festive themed food. Most of the time they sound delicious, but some shoppers aren’t convinced by Morrisons’ latest offering.
We all know that mince pies are a Christmas staple, but Morrisons have taken it to a new level by creating a hybrid sandwich. Yes you read that right, they’re now selling a mince pie sandwich!
It might sound like a bizarre idea, but let’s take a quick look at what’s actually inside the sandwich. It’s filled with a mince pie-inspired chutney, cheddar cheese, crumbly Wensleydale cheese, and has a fruity style bread roll.
It’s definitely unique, that’s for sure, and many shoppers aren’t convinced by Morrisons latest creation. One Twitter user wrote, ‘That is an abomination !!!’
Another added, ‘It’s a no from me...there’s no need to be messing about with a mince pie! 🥧 🎄.’
A third said, ‘Great if you have no taste buds what so ever.’

However, some shoppers are interested in the idea. One wrote, ‘Love this idea. Can't wait to try one.’
If you do want to try this sandwich, it’s available as part of Morrisons £3.50 meal deal which gives you a main, snack and a drink. It’s available in stores now until December 24th, so you’ve got a few weeks to pluck up the courage to give it a go!
That’s not the only unconventional Christmas treat to hit our shelves. Recently, Iceland launched their festive pie that’s filled with an entire Christmas dinner. Would you be willing to try this?
Or, for a boozy take on the classic mince pie, Asda are selling gin-flavoured mince pies for just £2 a box. Maybe you’ll find that more appealing than a mince pie sandwich!
But if none of that appeals to you at all and you’d rather stick to your classic Christmas treats, many of them are hitting shelves as we speak.
From savoury snacks to sweet treats, we’re more than ready to stock up for the big day!
