Lidl might be finally launching their home delivery service
We unashamedly love Lidl, so we’re delighted to hear that the budget supermarket is considering home deliveries.
Speaking to The Grocer, Lidl bosses said that they were planning a brand new ‘platform’ where customers could buy products. This might mean that the company are working on an app, which is exciting.
In this digital age, it would certainly be a welcome addition.
They also said they were ‘actively exploring’ the online sphere as a way to ‘drive online sales’, hence why some people are speculating that home deliveries might be a reality soon.
Lidl are currently advertising for a new digital project manager to help drive sales online, as well as head up this new online platform. However, not much else is known about this job so it’s unclear exactly what the right candidate will be responsible for.
But despite the fact Lidl don’t currently sell anything online, they seem keen to hire this role - which is getting people thinking online delivery could be coming soon!
The successful candidate will be based in their UK head office in Wimbledon, working closely with the head of e-commerce.
