Asda's new watermelon gin is perfect for the summer

Sounds lovely!

Asda gin

G&T’s are the perfect summer drink, and Asda have launched a watermelon gin for those wanting to try something a little different.

The new Verano Watermelon Gin is pink, and we’re sure it’ll go perfectly with either tonic or lemonade and served over ice. If you prefer something zestier, the brand also offer a lemon flavour that’s infused with peel.

According to Asda’s website, it’s inspired by Spain and fresh local fruits, describing it as ‘a perfect gift for any gin enthusiast and great for sharing with friends’. It’s 40% alcohol, with shoppers able to pick up a 70cl bottle for £20.

Kayleigh Johnston, Verano Distiller, said ‘Inspired by the colourful and relaxed atmosphere of Spain, Verano Gin is perfect for fun, easy summer entertaining – we can’t wait for people to enjoy our watermelon and lemon gins with their friends and family.’

If that doesn’t interest you, Asda have also got three more gins that might be more up your street. They’re based off popular sweets lemon sherbets, pear drops and parma violets.

The Lemon Sherbet gin, as you can imagine, is described as ‘zesty and tangy’, the Pear Drop one has ‘hints of pear and blackcurrant, and the Parma Violet one is chock-full of ‘violet flavour’. They all sound delicious.

Better yet, these gins have a sparkle to them and the Parma Violet turns from purple to light pink when tonic is added. Magic!

Asda’s Spirits Product Manager Ed Sowerby said ‘Novelty, quality gins have become a summer must-have for customers looking to entertain with flair and flavour.’

‘Working closely with our suppliers, we’ve created a range of gins which are both glitzy and gorgeous to look at, but also deliver popular flavours the nation knows and loves.’

So whatever your preference is, we’re sure Asda will have a gin for everyone this summer. We’ll drink to that.
