Aldi launches lowest calorie prosecco in UK supermarkets
Now the festive season is well and truly over, many of us are feeling a prosecco flute-shaped void in our lives.
With so many of our favourite tipples consumed throughout December, it comes as a bit of a shock to the body when January hits and all of a sudden it’s time to go dry.
Even for those not attempting to complete Dry January (i.e. the more realistic of society), you may still have set yourself a new year’s resolution to consume less alcohol units and more litres of water.
But with today (17th January) popularly thought of as Ditch New Year’s Resolution Day, we think it might just be time to crack out the bubbles again.
14 reasons January is actually the best month
And always on hand with a must-have deal as soon as we need one, budget supermarket Aldi has released a new tipple that is just what we need to break our new year alcohol ban.
The bargain store has launched a low calorie prosecco so that you can enjoy a glass of bubbles without completely abandoning those New Year weight loss goals.

Their La Gioiosa Colleziona Oro Prosecco, which is the lowest-calorie prosecco on UK supermarket shelves, contains just 63 calories per glass, saving a whopping 120 calories per bottle compared to the average fizz.
Taste-wise, it is drier than your usual prosecco, as it contains half the amount of sugar, hence the fewer calories.
So for all of you Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc fans, this could beat exactly what you’re looking for.
The Italian sparkling is available now online and in stores across the country and comes in at only £8.99, so won’t break the bank either.
Try Aldi's hangover-free prosecco
‘We know that our shoppers are passionate about their Prosecco, having seen sales increase for fizz year on year, but also recognise that the trend for lower-calorie drinks is becoming increasingly popular,’ said Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK.
‘This latest launch of our low-calorie Prosecco demonstrates our commitment to catering to all customers tastes and lifestyles, with a fantastic quality product that is perfect for those looking to lead a balanced lifestyle, without cutting out treats altogether.’
Sounds like just the tipple to break Dry January.
No judgement here – at least you made it this far.
