Eamonn Holmes has been awarded an OBE for his services to broadcasting in the New Year's Honours list, but his wife Ruth might not be present at the ceremony.
The TV star from Northern Ireland made his on-screen debut back in 1979 when he joined Ulster Television to host the station's Farming Ulster programme.
Since then, he's built up a pretty impressive CV in the world of television with stints on GMTV, This Morning and Sky News' Sunrise to name just a few shows he's fronted.
So when it was announced he was going to be awarded an OBE for his services, Eamonn was naturally thrilled to learn the exciting news.
'It's like getting a gold star for your homework. 2018 will be my 38th year as a broadcaster and I can't think of a better way of marking that', he gushed.
Ruth might not be present to see her husband be awarded an OBE However, it looks as though Ruth Langsford might have to miss out on seeing her husband of eight years suit up to meet the Queen at the official Investitures ceremony.
During a chat with Ben Shephard on Good Morning Britain, Eamonn, 58, suggested that his wife would forgo her space for the sake of their children if he was only offered two tickets.
'My daughter loves the royals so I'd like her to be there. My son Jack wanted to be there too,' he said.
'So Ruth might have to stand aside - and she would do that. But it'd be nice to have three, that would settle it. But I really need about seventeen I think.'
It looks as though there are no hard feelings between the TV power couple as Ruth, 57, is clearly delighted by Eamonn's achievement.
She tweeted: 'SO proud of my husband @EamonnHolmes All his years of broadcasting rewarded with an OBE!!! Congratulations darling x.'
Other stars to have been put forward for the prestigious accolade include Beatles singer Ringo Starr, Strictly Come Dancing judge Darcey Bussell and Grime artist Wiley.
