'My baby looks beautiful' Thomas Markle reportedly opens up for the first time after daughter Meghan Markle marries Prince Harry
So sweet...
Thomas Markle, father of Meghan Markle, has reportedly opened up for the first time after his daughter married Prince Harry.
According to TMZ, American celebrity news website who say they spoke to Mr Markle, the proud father wished the royal couple his best wishes after their wedding and said Meghan looked 'beautiful'.
He reportedly said: 'My baby looks beautiful and she looks very happy. I wish I were there and I wish them all my love and all happiness.'
It was confirmed earlier this week that Meghan's dad would not be able to attend the royal wedding, following news that he had to undergo heart surgery on Wednesday.
The sad news that Meghan's dad would not be attending the service was confirmed by the bride herself, who addressed the rumours in an emotional statement.
She said: 'Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health.
‘I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday.’

A few days later it was confirmed that the person accompanying Meghan down the aisle would be Prince Charles.
An official statement read: 'Ms. Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St George’s Chapel on her Wedding Day.
‘The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms Markle to The Royal Family in this way.'
Thomas Markle's reported statement comes shortly after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who will now be known as The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, tied the knot in front of friends and family at St George's Chapel at Windsor Chapel.
Meghan's mum Doria also there to accompany her daughter, and was the only member of her family member present at the ceremony.
Alongside a host of celebrity guests like Oprah and George Clooney, the couple were joined by their closest friends and family, including Prince William, Kate Middleton and little Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
