'I'm moved beyond words' Simon Thomas leaves fans emotional after revealing heartwarming gesture by a total stranger
The TV presenter lost his wife to cancer in November last year
Simon Thomas has revealed that a random act of kindness by a total stranger has totally blown him away.
The TV presenter lost his wife Gemma to acute myeloid leukaemia in November last year, only a week after she was diagnosed.
Since their tragic loss, the dad has been popping handwritten letters into his son Ethan's lunch box each day to let him know just how much he loves him.
'Today's #snacknote is a bit different,' he wrote on Instagram yesterday.
'Since Gemma went I have been so moved by the support and messages I get from people on here, people I haven't even met, yet people who care about me and what I'm going through.'
Simon - who married Gemma in 2005 - went on to tell his followers that a man had sent him his own set of notes featuring motivational words.
'A guy called Dan Ritchie, who I have yet to meet (but will) had seen my notes for Ethan and felt I needed some too, to encourage me and help me keep going when I feel like giving up,' he continued.

'So he's written me a daily note too - for every single day of the coming year! That's #lightinthedarkness right there.'
It's clear that Dan's gesture moved 44-year-old Simon's fans, as many left their heartfelt thoughts below the post.
'Oh wow that is absolutely amazing. Grief can be so isolating but it can also reunite us all. With so much sadness in the world and for all the pain you are going through this is absolutely heartwarming,' said one.
'I sincerely hope it brings you some comfort as you are doing an amazing job xxx.'
Another choked-up fan added: 'This is one of the nicest thing I have ever seen somebody do. How thoughtful for this man to do this for somebody he has never met. How wonderful is our generation, truly loving to each other. I'm moved beyond words. Stay strong Simon ❤️.'
