Richard Gere has married his partner Alejandra Silva.
Richard Gere has confirmed that the rumours are true - he is officially taken once again and has married his partner Alejandra Silva.
The silver screen star, who won hearts in the 80s and 90s in films such as Pretty Woman and An Officer and a Gentleman, revealed that he married his love in an Indian-inspired ceremony at his home near New York.
Confirming his happy news to Hello! Magazine, the 68-year-old actor described himself as ‘the happiest man in the universe’ following his wedding to Alejandra who is a 35-year-old Spanish activist.
‘I'm married to a beautiful woman who is smart, sensitive, committed to helping people, who's fun, patient, who knows how to forgive, who's a great cook - and who makes the best salads in the world!’ Gere gushed about his new wife.
‘Alejandra meditates, she's a vegetarian, a great mother, has the touch of an angel and she's also Spanish - the land of kings and queens, of Cervantes and Bunuel. You can't get any better than that.'
Hollywood star Richard Gere met Alejandra in 2014 after staying in a hotel owned by her family in Italy. The pair’s relationship has blossomed since then with Alejandra previously revealing that the pair have been inseparable since first getting together.
‘A friend introduced us, we looked at each other and felt a very strong connection’ the Spanish charity founder disclosed. 'We couldn't stop looking at each other all night, and since then we haven't been apart.'

This is Richard Gere’s third marriage. The actor was previously married to supermodel Cindy Crawford for four years in the early 90s, and was then married to actress Carey Lowell from 2002 to 2016.
Richard shares an 18-year-old son with his ex-wife Carey, while Alejandra is also a parent, as she has a five-year-old son from a previous marriage.
