'Chatty' and 'confident' Princess Charlotte is already speaking Spanish

Prince George and Princess Charlotte have already been getting a head start on their education it seems, in the form of learning a second language

Prince George and Princess Charlotte may have only just started at primary school and nursery respectively, but the young royals have already been getting a head start on their education it seems, in the form of learning a second language.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte are both back at school now following the Christmas break, with four-year-old Prince George heading back for his second term at Thomas's Battersea and Princess Charlotte starting nursery this week.

However, two-year-old Princess Charlotte may have had a headstart ahead of her peers at Willcocks nursery school, as People Magazine reports that the charming tot can already speak some Spanish thanks to careful teaching from the Duchess of Cambridge and practice with her Spanish nanny, Maria Turrion Borrallo.

Princess Charlotte joins her big brother Prince George in mastering some of the basics of the Spanish language, as Kate revealed on a visit to Wick Court farm in Gloucestershire last year that Prince George could already count to ten in the language.

At the time, the Duchess of Cambridge confessed she was trying to teach Charlotte Spanish too, so the young Princess has caught up quickly in less than a year.

A source also revealed to People magazine that Kate Middleton and Prince William's daughter is also very talkative - no matter what language she is using!

'She's very sweet and very confident - she's always chatting away' the source divulged.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte follow in their great-grandmother the Queen's footsteps in inheriting an aptitude for learning languages. The Queen is known to speak fluent French, and has been known in the past to hold long conversations in the language with former Presidents of France.

Prince Philip, Prince Charles and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are also thought to be able to speak some French, although it seems that Prince George and Princess Charlotte might be the first two of their immediate family to pick up Spanish.
