Prince George and Princess Charlotte have rooms kitted out with IKEA reveal Kate Middleton and Prince William

The couple outed themselves of fans of the affordable Swedish retailer while meeting with the company's head of design in Stockholm

Prince George and Princess Charlotte's bedrooms aren't kitted out with fancy furniture, despite their royal status, as revealed by mum Kate Middleton and dad Prince William whilst on their offical visit to Sweden.

When they stepped out in Stockholm yesterday, during their royal tour, the duo revealed that they've snapped up some affordable buys for their kids from retailer IKEA.

'Well, well well - even William and Kate can't resist a bit of flat-pack - they revealed today they have some @IKEAUK at home for Prince George and Princess Charlotte! #ikea #RoyalVisitSweden,' The Daily Mail's royal correspondent Rebecca English revealed on Twitter.

Obviously thrilled to see that Kate and William, 35, like to shop for purse-friendly pieces, one of Rebecca's followers quipped: 'They're just normal people like us who shops furniture at IKEA.'

Rebecca joked back: 'Bet you they don't have to try and put it up, though!'

Kate and William made the comment while speaking to IKEA's head of design while visiting the National Museum Of Architecture And Design in Stockholm.

'I'm proud that we can suit everybody', said Marcus Engman. 'That's what we want IKEA to be - for the many people of the world, both royalty and ordinary people.'

Kate and William are in Scandinavia for a number of official engagements, and they arrived in Stockholm late at night earlier this week.

The couple's four-day tour will take them to various locations in Norway and Sweden.

We can't help wondering what Kate, who is currently pregnant with the couple's third child, and her husband Prince William have purchased for Prince George, four, and his little sister Princess Charlotte, two, from IKEA.

The Swedish furniture giant boasts so many practical yet stylish items for children, stocking everything from extendable beds that can be adapted to accommodate a growing child to play tents and adorable toys.

A desk and matching chair are also sure to come in handy now the young royals are both in education.
