Police issues warning after getting call from child whose parents served him a salad
Someone really doesn't like vegetables...
Police have issued a warning to parents after getting a call from a child who was complaining that they were - wait for it - served a salad.
Children can be fussy eaters while they're growing up, and tantrums at the dinner table are very common in most households with little ones.
Be it broccoli or any other vegetable - especially the green kind - hatred for anything healthy seems to quite popular among children.
But while most might not appreciate their parents when they're presented with a plate of vegetables, there's one child who decided to take matters into his own hands and make it clear to his parents that salad is definitely not on the list of his favourites foods.
According to a release from police in Nova Scotia, Canada, they received a call from a 12-year-old boy who stated their guardian made a salad he did not like.
Salad is definitely not on his favourite foods list...
The incident occurred this week, and before police arrived, the child made another call to ask when they would be arriving and said again that he did not like the salad.

While the story can be seen as quite funny and provide light relief to parents of fussy eaters who haven't quite reached that level of desperation, it's also been used as a reminder that emergency numbers should not be used in cases that are not an emergency.
The Canadian police force said: 'While many can relate to the dislike of a salad at times, this raises a more important issue that warrants discussion at all ages.
'The improper use of 911 is an issue with all age groups and it ties up valuable resources, preventing emergency first responders from dealing with real emergencies.'
