Pippa Middleton confirms she is expecting her first child with husband James Matthews
Pippa Middleton and James Matthews are expecting their first child together!
Pippa Middleton has confirmed that she is pregnant with her first child just over a year marrying James Matthews.
Speculation that the couple were expecting a baby has been going around for months and many thought Pippa would be pregnant at the same time as big sister Kate Middleton was with Prince Louis.
Pippa finally confirmed the news in her Waitrose Weekend Column and is thought to be due to give birth in October. She has detailed her pregnancy workout tips as well as the news she was able to avoid morning sickness - unlike Kate who famously suffered from severe hyperemesis gravidarum.
Pippa wrote: 'I was lucky to pass the 12-week scan without suffering from morning sickness. This being my first pregnancy, I had so many questions I felt were still unanswered.'
Pippa and James married in May last year and are now on their way to becoming parents
The expectant mum explained: 'I wanted to know things like — would I strain if I served in tennis? Are all strokes of swimming safe? Can I still do a normal yoga class if I avoided certain positions? Could I still work my abs?
'It's particularly hard in the early months when you don't really want to share the news with everyone, not even your class instructor. I've noticed my body change and weight increase — but through effective exercise and sports I feel that it's being strengthened to support a healthy pregnancy, birth and recovery.'

Although Pippa doesn't detail when or how she told her family, it's likely they have known for months and Kate is sure to be very excited that her three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - are soon going to have a baby cousin to play with.
Pippa has always been very active and keeping fit during her pregnancy is clearly something she is passionate about. She has given up one sport, running, because she read that it wasn't the safest activity to do and thought she would give her body a rest from what she describes as 'pavement pounding'.
The mum-to-be also revealed that she likes to hold her tummy to give the baby a hug and to support her back. Pippa jokes that she also hopes this will 'ensure that post baby my old favourite jeans will still fit... eventually!'
Congratulations to Pippa and James!
