Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder welcome a baby girl

Lovely news for the couple!

Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder have reportedly welcomed their first child together.

E! News reports that Nikki, who is best known for her role as Rosalie in the Twilight film franchise, and Ian, who has starred in TV programmes including Lost and The Vampire Diaries, are now proud parents to a daughter.

According to the title, they've chosen a rather unusual baby name for their new arrival: Bodhi Soleil.

The name Bodhi is of Sanskrit origin, and means 'awakening' and 'enlightenment'. The pair aren't the only celebrity couple to have chosen it for their bundle of joy - in February 2014, Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green revealed that they'd picked Bodhi as the name of their second son together.

Ian and Nikki first announced that they were expecting back in May, with a sweet social media announcement that showed Ian kissing Nikki's growing bump.

'To our friends, family, and rest of the world. In my 38 years on this earth I've never experienced anything more powerful and beautiful than this,' the actor wrote to his 12 million Instagram followers at the time.

'I can't think of anything more exciting than this next chapter and we wanted you to hear this from us first. This has been the most special time of our lives and we wanted to keep it between the three of us for as long as possible so we could enjoy this time with each other and our little one who is growing so fast... because that's what they do, they grow so fast.'

Nikki echoed his sentiments, sharing the same snap to her own account and writing: 'Hi Little One. I know you, but only because I feel you. How is it possible to love someone so much already?'

'All I know for sure is it's the strongest feeling I've ever felt. We've been sharing this body for quite some time, and we've already experienced so much together. We can't wait to meet you...'
