Mums are totally divided over this new reusable toilet paper that's been dubbed 'family cloth'
No matter how cost-effective it is, some parents just cannot stand the idea of re-usable toilet paper. Could you?
A new reusable toilet paper - dubbed 'family cloth' - is dividing parents - but would you try it?
Environmentally friendly products are important for the planet and reusable items are often more cost-effective. But for some mums, the idea of reusable toilet paper is a step too far.
One mum shared her and her family's positive experience of using 'family cloth' with Buzzfeed: 'In my mind, buying and using disposable toilet paper was literally flushing money down the toilet!
'Let's also set the record straight: Individuals who use family cloth do not only have a single piece of cloth. We have dozens of smallish strips of cloth.'
The story quickly received a strong reaction on social media, with several mums taking to Facebook to share their opinion on the new eco-friendly product.
One wrote: 'No way! That's gross 😷 if you did choose to do it though, you'd need to be washing it every day! Not a couple of times a week 😷😷😷🤢🤢🤢'.
For some this idea was a step too far, with one person saying: 'I'm all for save the planet, used washable nappies for 2 years, love mooncup but I draw the line here.'

Celeb mum Chrissy Teigen also weighed in, simply writing: 'AHHHH'.
Others were conflicted by the idea of keeping the used toilet paper in a basket and shared this person's thoughts on the matter.
They wrote: 'I don't know what's more disgusting sharing cloths or keeping pissy cloths in a basket and only washing them twice a week 🤢😂'.
But lots of people could see the benefit of the product and said it was no different to using re-usable nappies. One person said: 'There's literally no difference between this and cloth nappies & wipes. If I wasn't already over run with washing I'd do this.'
However, others have pointed out that the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly thing to do would be to invest in a bidet. Though that might not be as accessible for most people to try.
If you wanted to try the toilet paper for yourself, you can find lots of different providers through Etsy or on Amazon you can buy a pack which contains 1,700 uses for £9.99.
