Mum sparks outrage after admitting to using breast milk in school bake sale brownies
She said she 'didn't think it was a big deal'
A mum has sparked outrage online after admitting she used her own breast milk in brownies for the school bake sale.
The unnamed Facebook user said the issue had 'been blown way out of proportion' and reached out to other mums for advice. In the post, which has since been shared to the Sanctimommy Facebook page, she says: 'Idk [I don't know] what to do!Any suggestions?'
According to the mum, she was in a rush trying to prepare something for her child's school bake sale and said that she hadn't had time to go to the shop to buy more milk.

'[I] didn't think it was a big deal (some of those kids could do with the nutrition lets be honest),' she said in the post. 'And it wasn't even that much. One of the other moms found out and are blowing it way out of proportion!'
Other users on the group, however, weren't particularly sympathetic, with one even accusing the action of being 'damn near a criminal offence.'
'Breast milk, like blood or semen, can carry diseases, which is why legit donation services screen the milk before passing it along to moms and their babies,' they said.

Another agreed: '"Idk what to do?" Gee, maybe not make boob juice brownies for the whole damn school. I wouldn't eat them if it was my own.'
'First of all, I've never seen a brownie recipe that used milk. Second of all, why not use a little water instead?' a third shocked commenter wrote. 'Third of all, not cool. Keep your boob juice out of my kid's snacks. I don't know you like that.'
Other comments poked fun at the decision decision and the original poster's bemusement that she had done anything wrong.
'It's like that one time I made lemonade with my urine because I ran out of water and didn't feel like going to the store to get more,' quipped one. 'I only drink Perrier so they were getting, like, the best urine ever. I don't know why everyone was so mad about it.'
A second said: 'Clearly the other moms are upset because you baked brownies with sugar and flour. Next time try a sugar-free, gluten-free recipe and you should be fine. Pro-tip: make them soy-free as well. And obviously, sneak in some spinach and quinoa.'
