'I wish I never breastfed my baby' Mum-of-two admits she's a 'better mum' after switching to a bottle
'I know I will cop alot of negative comments about this post but I think its important for mums to know that they have choices'
A mum-of-two has admitted she regrets breastfeeding her baby, claiming that she feels like a 'better wife' and a 'better mum' now she's switched to bottle feeding.
Maddi Wright, who is known for appearing in the Australian reality TV show House Rules, has taken to Instagram to speak out about the downsides she experienced while breastfeeding.
The mum posted an adorable picture to the social media site, showing her baby boy happily sitting on her lap giving him a big cuddle.
Starting her caption with, 'I wish I never breastfed my baby', Maddi goes on to explain how much happier she's been since switching to bottle feeding three weeks ago, calling herself 'a different person'.
She wrote, 'A strong statement and many would disagree but here's why... 3 weeks post stopping breastfeeding with my 4 month old I am a completely different person.
'I'm a better mum and better wife. I have more energy. I actually have gaps where bub is NOT on my body so I get to miss him a little. I have more time for my other son. I am more affectionate towards my husband.'
Maddi explained how breastfeeding had given her anxiety, struggling to leave the house and feeling uncomfortable in maternity clothes.

'I don't dread going out in public. I enjoy my clothes again as I'm not leaking everywhere or having to wear uncomfortable maternity bras. I'm able to leave the house by myself without getting anxiety. I'm able to go to the gym again.'
Despite knowing her post could be seen as controversial, Maddi felt compelled to remind other mums that they have a choice when it comes to breastfeeding.
'I know I will cop alot of negative comments about this post but I think its important for mums to know that they have choices. There are so many different ways to be a mum. But what many mums forget is that MUM HAS TO BE HAPPY TOO.'
Followers rushed to support Maddi, with many mums sharing their own stories of experiencing difficulty breastfeeding.
One Instagram user wrote, 'I love this! Do what is right for you! Everyone has there own opinions and no matter what u do there will be alway someone that doesn't agree!'
A second agreed, adding: 'Amen to that. I felt exactly the same way when I stopped breastfeeding. I was so much happier and no longer regretted having my baby. I think "breast is best" is a very narrow minded statement of the overall health and wellbeing of mum and baby.'
