Mum praised for revealing the REAL reason why she wishes she'd never breastfed her baby

'I am a completely different person'

A mum has been praised for her honesty after revealing the real reason why she'd never breastfed her baby.

Maddi Wright, an Australian reality TV star, took to social media to speak candidly about her experience of breastfeeding.

'I wish I never breastfed my baby. A strong statement and many would disagree but here's why,' she said.

'3 weeks post stopping breastfeeding with my 4 month old I am a completely different person.'

Maddi then told her followers that she believes her decision to switch to bottles improved her self-esteem.

'I'm a better mum and better wife. I have more energy. I actually have gaps where bub is NOT on my body so I get to miss him a little. I have more time for my other son,' she continued.

'I am more affectionate towards my husband. I don't dread going out in public. I enjoy my clothes again as I'm not leaking everywhere or having to wear uncomfortable maternity bras. I'm able to leave the house by myself without getting anxiety.

'I'm able to go to the gym again. I know I will cop a lot of negative comments about this post but I think its important for mums to know that they have choices. There are so many different ways to be a mum. But what many mums forget is that MUM HAS TO BE HAPPY TOO. #breastfeeding #bottlefed #mum #baby.'

The frank post really seemed to strike a chord with others, with many praising Maddi for having the courage to open up.

'Thank you so much for your honesty and vulnerability,' said one.

Obviously inspired by Maddi, another felt the need to share her own breastfeeding story.

She added: 'As a first time mom to my 5-week-old, I had shed so many tears over breastfeeding. I feel so trapped and anxious. I'm scared I won't make enough milk or I'll never be able to go anywhere by myself. It's so refreshing to read your post. I'm struggling so bad right now and want to quit every second of the day.'
