Mum makes amazing apology cake after believing her daughter was taking drugs

Being told your child does drugs is one of the scariest things a parent could hear.

But that’s exactly what happened for one mum, when a school awkwardly gave her the wrong results of her daughter’s drugs test.

Rachel Gelmis had to take a drug test at school, after her mum thought she was acting quite strange. But even though she knew she was clean, there was a quite embarrassing mix up with the results.

The former teenager revealed that her mum faced any parents worst nightmare after the test said Rachel had been taking THC, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, benzodiazepine and barbiturates.

She shared the mix up on Twitter, which read: ‘Last week, I was drug tested at Pinnacle. This was the first time I had ever been drug tested, and I knew I was clean, of course.

‘However, when the results came back, I was told that I had traces of THC, cocaine, heroin, meth, benzos, and barbiturates in my system. I knew that this was not true. My mother, on the other hand, believed it.’

Rachel told the Huffington Post that her mum had started looking for rehab facilities before being told of the faulty results. However, once the school contacted her about the mistake, Rachel suggested her mum make a cake becasue it would be ‘something silly that would make us both feel better.’

In the post she explained how her mum realised the truth and made a brilliant cake to say sorry, saying: ‘A few hours later, the school contacted my mom and told her they had completely misread the test, and I was negative for all of these substances (no s***) So, as an apology, I had my dear, wonderful mother make me a cake. You are forgiven. The End.’ 

Rachel also shared a picture of the apology cake, with had the words ‘sorry we thought you did meth... & coke & pot & heroin’ iced on top.

Rachel’s mum Karen originally made the cake in 2012, but the photo has recently gone viral after it was reposted on Twitter.
