Mum explains why all parents need a good bathroom cry with emotional selfie
A mum has shared a picture on her Instagram reminding parents that it's okay to cry and find things difficult but not to forget that it does get easier.
There's no denying it – parenting is hard. That is why it's important to show support for one another especially when times are tough.
Which is why when one mum posted a picture on her Instagram, full of raw emotion, and explained why every parent sometimes need to little cry in the bathroom, people have rallied behind her.
Mum-of-two blogger Mel Watts has a following of 157,000 and regularly posts about family life.
Her feed demonstrates that it's not all lollipops and rainbows and the picture of her crying has received a lot of support.
Writing in the caption, Mel explained: 'Because sometimes no matter how much you try they’ll test you, they’ll hurt you like you haven’t felt that kind of hurt, they’ll make you question everything and you’ll do crazy things like throw the Xbox off the balcony. But then you’ll cry alone, a lot and your head will pound.
'You realise one day you’ll have to pay for a new Xbox and that in hindsight their behaviours aren’t always a bad reflection of them, just a bad choice. Just like that one time you made a bad decision, it was a bad decision, not a reflection of your true self.'
She continues to explain that these moments are important as you simply learn from them and get stronger each time.

Mel writes: 'From these moments you learn. I’m forever learning, adjusting, regretting and trying my hardest not to fuck it up (or him preferably) but maybe that’s what parenting is in the end.
'A bunch of fuck ups, a pool of tears, tired eyes, always reflecting and tying so hard to respect the person they are, but also apologising for their behaviours. And one day they’ll turn out to be decent members of society who’ll love you and themselves. And before you know it they’re adults crying about their children. #thecircleoflife #parentingisntmyforte'.
Several people have praised Mel for her honesty, with one writing: 'So true. Motherhood is hard work at times but so many beautiful moments as well'.
Another said: 'Love your honesty. We can all relate to the really hard days, and the decisions we regret. But you’re a wonderful mother, and having your kids see you make mistakes, apologize and strive for something change will only help them in turn to grow too! Well done mama! 😘'.
A third added: 'Your an amazing Mum, mum life is all ways testing. You’ve got this 🙌🏽🙌🏽'.
