Mum reveals she still breastfeeds her five-year-old daughter (and her husband isn't happy about it)

A mum-of-two has revealed that she continued to breastfeed her five-year-old daughter despite the fact that it has caused tension in her marriage.
Sophie Mei Lan, 29, told The Sun that she believes the breastfeeding tightens the bond between her and daughter, Jasmine.

many mums choose to stop breastfeeding after around six months, new research by the American Psychological Association claims that extended breastfeeding could have benefits that last years.
Sophie, who is also mum to two-year-old Arianna, said: 'I don't think there's anything strange about feeing your children.'
'Breast milk is nourishing, soothing and it's free. I must have saved thousands of pounds over the years.'
The mum, from Wakefield, also admits that she sleeps with her daughters every night, so they can latch on for a feed then fall back to sleep.

the decision to co-sleep and extend breastfeed has caused arguments with her chef husband, Chris, 30.
'It's cause a bit of friction in my relationship,' she admitted. 'Chris would like me to stop because it's so tiring.'
She goes on to explain that they do argue about it, but that they both know breast milk is one of the healthiest thing children can enjoy.
And it's not just her husband who's unhappy with the decision; feeding her five-year-old in public also attracts attention.
'People do stare. I feel a bit awkward,' she confessed.
Sophie would like to stop eventually, saying that it sometimes gets to be 'too much', but her daughters are showing no signs of giving up on their breast milk.
Even school hasn't put a stop to it, as Sophie said explained that daughter Jasmine isn't bothered that no one else in her class breast feeds.
'When they get molar teeth it's supposed to be harder for them to latch on, so maybe she'll wean herself off when she gets to around seven,' she added.
