Parents go wild for gorgeous mermaid feature wall mum created for just £18 - this is how she did it!
Decorating your kids’ bedroom can be difficult, and expensive too - but one mum found a genius way to create a feature wall for less.
Spending less than £18, Katie Blackbourn used free wallpaper samples to create the mermaid scale effect for her daughter. The best thing about this design is the fact it's incredibly versatile, so you can choose your own colours and patterns depending on what samples you pick up.
To get the shape right, she made a template out of card and traced around it. Even though it's time consuming, the results and money saving is well worth the energy!
She posted a video of the feature wall to Instagram, with the caption: ‘Magical Mermaid Wall 🧜 ♀️💖😍’. The video has been viewed over 300 times.

In terms of the rest of the cost, she spent £14.99 on some paint, £1.99 on wallpaper paste and just £1 for a small mirror - which is a bargain when you think about it!
She revealed the feature wall paint was Dulux’s Proud Peacock, and the small white mirror was from Poundland.
