This GENIUS hack turns £6 Argos baskets into handy shelves
If you’re not a fan of plain old shelves, one woman has shared how she tired wire baskets into a great display.
Dawn Woods shared her genius idea to Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, where she explained: ‘I bought these baskets from argos on sale for £6 and used them as shelves. I love em ♥️’.
By turning them on their side and attaching them to the wall, Dawn has created a lovely home for a photo frame, some tea lights and houseplants. We think it looks very chic!
Her post has since racked up over 1,000 likes, with many members of the group impressed with Dawn’s cheap DIY idea.
One commenter loved it, calling Dawn's shelves ‘practical’: ‘Great idea! They don't hold as much dust either so practical too.’
Another said the idea would be great for letters, adding: ‘Fab idea I love it would work in hallway for letters etc’.
If you want to give it a go for yourself, you can get a set of two wire storage baskets from Argos for just £6.49. They come in two colours; white or gold. Both baskets have copper handles.

Alternatively, they are excellent storage units on their own, if you've got clutter lying about around the house.
According to Argos, the baskets ‘will store notebooks, magazines, and pen pots without breaking a sweat.’ Or, like Dawn, you can create a lovely ornamental set-up.

The retailer also says you can ‘use them on your desk, or slide them onto that shelf underneath the coffee table and get organising.
