'Giving food like this to a child is child abuse' Kelly Clarkson sparks debate after feeding daughter River Nutella
Her Instagram followers have hit back
Kelly Clarkson has been slammed by Instagram followers after posting a video of her two-year-old daughter, River, eating Nutella.
In the video, the toddler is seen happily munching the chocolate spread smeared on a slice of toast and seems mightily pleased with her treat.
'River's first Nutella experience,' Kelly captioned the sweet clip.
Here at GoodtoKnow, we understand the power of a great Nutella recipe, but some followers have come down hard on Kelly, with one even accusing the singer of 'child abuse' for giving her daughter the family favourite.
'Giving food like this to a child is child abuse,' wrote one angry commenter.
'Nutella is PACKED with sugars,' wrote another. 'Don't make your kid blow up.'
'Stop eating Nutella, it's been confirmed to cause cancer,' a third follower alleged.

However, the majority of comments came from users jumping to the Because of You singer's defence, with the general consensus amongst Kelly's 2.2million followers seeming to be that some fans had blown the issue way out of proportion.
'Kelly, I hope you let these trolls comments go,' wrote one fan. 'It's not easy living under a microscope! You go girl!'
'Sounds like they need some Nutella to sweeten their being', wrote another.
'Like u people never give cake for [a] birthday?' a third commenter asked.
Kelly was clearly unfazed by the negative comments, because a few days later she posted another pic of her son Remy celebrating his first birthday with a giant chocolate cake. And followers hadn't forgotten about the Nutella storm either, because the debate continued in the comments on this photo too.
'Absolutely love you @kellyclarkson for ignoring all the haters and posting this picture of your lovely little family being a normal family! Happy Birthday Remy!' one applauded.
Another chipped in: 'Nutella rocks and so do you. I love it, my kids love it. We all get to indulge every once in a while. Do you and be the mom you were meant to be!'
