Jennie McAlpine has announced she is expecting her second child with husband Chris Farr.
The Coronation Street actress, who plays Fiz in the long-running soap, shared her happy news on social media on Sunday, tweeting: ‘We’ve got a bit of news. Pur baby boy is going to be a big brother later this year. We can’t wait to meet you precious one x’.
Jennie quickly realised her ‘baby brain’ had come into effect after she mistakenly wrote ‘pur’ instead of ‘our’, leading many of her fans to believe she was announcing that her cat is pregnant.
She explained: ‘Thanks for all your lovely messages. Obviously my baby brain is in full force again. Our baby boy. Not pur. Sorry to people who got confused it was about the cat x’.
Her Corrie co-workers and fans were quick to congratulate the star, with Catherine Tyldesley - who plays pregnant Eva on the soap - sending her a row of red love-heart emojis.
Bhavna Limbachia, who plays Corrie's Rana, tweeted: ‘Ahhh!! Congratulations Jennie!! That’s amazing news! xxx.’
Shobna Gulati, who played Sunita until 2013, tweeted: ‘Congratulations my dearest ! To all of you !! ( especially you as you are brewing baby).’
