'I've stopped looking after myself' Izzy Judd admits being a mum is overwhelming
The mum-of-two talks openly and honestly about motherhood
Izzy Judd has admitted that motherhood is overwhelming, and that she has stopped 'looking after herself' after welcoming her second child.
The mum-of-two has always been open about motherhood, talking candidly about her struggles to conceive and with her mental health. Continuing in the same vein, the 33-year-old recently shared a post on Instagram about a subject that resonated with her followers: self care, and just how important it is.
The sepia-toned sweet snap, shared with her 219k followers, shows Izzy holding her three-month-old son Kit.
In the caption she describes the difficulty she has taking care of herself when she has so many others to take care of as well. 'When I was going through the many lonely and isolating days during our fertility struggles I discovered that I needed to learn how to put myself first,' the mum wrote.
'I practised mindfulness twice a day every day, I enjoyed yoga, long peaceful walks surrounded by nature and ate like a goddess!'
'I carried around a heavy cloud but somehow felt in control, proactive and most importantly mentally and physically healthy.' Izzy, wife of McFly drummer Harry Judd, explained how how she thought all of her worries would disappear when she had children.
However, she added that she now realises that 'being a mum brings a whole new set of challenges and a new chapter in your life to learn from'.

Izzy went on to explain that now Kit is three months old and her daughter Lola is nearly two she's wondering why she has stopped looking after herself.
'Why don't I practice mindfulness anymore and why do I carry around guilt for finding being a mum so overwhelming?' she questioned. As part of her 'self care', the mum has resolved to cut back on social media, not just for herself, but to set a good example for her young children. 'Bringing your mind back to the present moment is so powerful and something I really want to teach Lola & Kit,' she said. 'Breathing and finding your inner calm makes all the difference.'
The Instagram post resonated with many fans, with one agreeing: 'I need to do this too x'.
Another posted: 'Wow I really needed to read this today! I have neglected myself of late, and needed reminding to take control of my own happiness!' while a third fan gushed: 'Your awesome!! Always open and honest! Hardest job being a mum! Self care defo needed.'
