'Iron Liver Challenge' dad drinks a litre of vodka in latest craze to sweep the internet
The dad consumed potentially fatal levels of alcohol
A dad has risked his life by competing in the 'Iron Liver Challenge', which sees YouTube stars drink a litre of vodka in under a minute.
Andi Doherty filmed himself and his friends downing a litre bottle of Smirnoff alcohol in just 60 seconds in the latest craze to sweep the internet.
The body piercer, who lives in Folkestone in Kent, goes by the name of Skat Dagger on his video channel and makes 'funny videos' for his fans.
The 29-year-old father has dubbed the challenge 'Iron Liver Challenge', as it sees contestants consume 40 units of straight spirits – government advice is no more than 14 units in a week.
Andi says that the potentially fatal prank, which has nearly 8000 views at the time of writing, isn't meant to encourage other people to follow in his footsteps.
'We aren't encouraging dangerous behaviour... I make funny videos every now and then and they always seem to get a good response on Facebook, so I set up a YouTube channel for myself and friends to start making various videos.'
Speaking about taking on the challenge, Andi said he knew 'a litre wouldn't be too much of an issue' because in the past he as downed a 70cl bottle of vodka in one go.

Despite his protests that the videos don't encourage dangerous copycats, Andi has been challenged by his fans to go further and do other stunts.
Andi said; 'I wasn't sick after the vodka and now I've been asked to down a litre of mouthwash, or a litre of olive oil, eat a stick of butter or eat silly amounts of doughnuts.'
Government advice about binge drinking is that consuming alcohol at such a fast pace is dangerous because the blood levels take approximately two hours to fully adjust to all of the alcohol that has been consumed.
By that point you are unable to control the effects or stop drinking if you begin to feel sick or fall unconscious.
Commenters have advised Andi of the risks, Matt Spiller said; 'This will kill you, don't you realise the risks? Your liver will get acutely damaged as soon as you start getting liver symptoms it is over, there is very little you can do to reverse it.'
