Mum's hilariously honest cards encourage other mums: 'You're doing a brilliant job'
Even if there are a few slip ups along the way
A mum has made herself a business making hilariously honest cards about motherhood.
Katie Kirby, who introduces herself on her Etsy profile as 'My name is Katie, I live with my little family by the sea and I love bunnies and gin,' discovered she had quite the knack for channelling the true realities of parenting on her blog, HurrahForGin.com.
After seeing how well other mums responded to her drawings, she decided to turn her talent into a business, creating her own Etsy shop of greetings cards.
Katie lives with her partner and two young sons in Brighton
She told GoodtoKnow, 'There didn't seem to be much else like on the market, so it then occurred to me that others might like to buy them for friends. I've sold hundreds since posting just the one picture - the power of social media is crazy!
'It's great though and I'm really chuffed to see so many mums wanting to support each other in this way.'

One of Katie's most popular designs
Katie's illustrations were even more popular than she'd anticipated, resonating with hundreds of other mums out there. She's received hundreds of likes, comments and shares on her Facebook page, with many commenting how much her cards pick them up. One wrote: 'This is amazing and just what I needed to see today.'
Perhaps the best part of the cards is how Katie doesn't try to 'iron out' the hiccoughs we meet as parents, but instead, seeks to emphasise them. They also involve gin. Lots of gin.
Katie said, 'I produce cards that are honest, true and a bit cheeky.'
