'We are so blessed' Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt announce the birth of their baby boy

The Hills star Heidi Montag has given birth to her first baby with husband Spencer Pratt, and they've chosen quite an unusual name for their bundle of joy.

'We are so blessed to have a beautiful healthy baby boy, it was the hardest and most rewarding experience,' the new mum confirmed to Us Weekly of the happy news.

Dad Spencer, meanwhile, described the experience as 'officially the most lit day of my life.'

While there are no public pictures of the little one just yet, the reality TV couple's rep has confirmed all the baby details to the title. The couple have named their bundle of joy Gunner Stone, and he was born at 3:06 p.m, weighing in at 6lbs 12oz and measuring 19 inches long.

When the reality star first found out the gender of their baby, she said: 'I ran into the room and said, "It's a boy!" I started screaming.'

When asked what sex she was hoping for, the 30-year-old added: 'It was in my heart to have a boy.

'I thought Spencer really used to want a boy, and then a few months ago we had a conversation where he said, "Let's just make sure it's healthy. Boy or girl, I don't care."'

Since announcing their pregnancy back in April, the couple have been sharing regular updates on social media, and at eight months pregnant, Heidi documented her baby shower, saying at the time: '💙 thank you to everyone who made my baby shower dreams come true!'

'What a blessed journey pregnancy has been. It's hard to believe in such a short time I will be holding my son! I have been dreaming of this my whole life. Precious little miracle. So filled with love. '

During a previous interview with Us Weekly, Heidi couldn't hide her excitement at becoming a mum for the first time.

'The reality is sinking in that we are going to have a child!' she said. 'I've read every pregnancy book, and now I realise I don't know anything.'

Spencer quipped that Heidi had been planning for her pregnancy for years, adding: 'Heidi has wanted to be a mum since the day I met her.'
