Grey’s Anatomy star Kevin McKid announces he's welcomed baby boy with wife Arielle Goldrath

Kevin McKidd has revealed that he's welcomed his first child with his wife Arielle Goldrath.

The Grey's Anatomy star shared a Mother's Day to remember after he announced his new arrival on Instagram on Sunday.

‘On this beautiful Mother’s Day evening…’ the proud father, 44, captioned a black-and-white photo of Arielle cuddling with their newborn.

He also shared with fans the baby name they picked for their little bundle of joy - Aiden.

‘Welcome little Aiden to our family and to the world!’ he continued. ‘Arielle, you’re the most amazing mother and I love you both so much! #happymothersday #forever #weeAiden #Arielle #newlife.’

Fans flooded his Instagram comments with messages of congratulations, with one writing: ‘Congratulations to you both! He is gorgeous! Welcome to the world Aiden x’

Another said: ‘omg!! congratulations im so happy for you guys! can’t wait to see more of him’.

A third added: ‘What an amazing Mother’s Day present!! Congratulations babies are such a blessing’.

And a fourth said: ‘What an amazing gift right on Mother's day! How exciting and congratulations to you both!!!’

The Scottish actor first shared the surprise announcement that he and Arielle were married and expecting a little one back in March.

‘Arielle and I are so happy to announce our marriage and new baby, who is soon to join our growing family,’ he revealed in a post on his website.

‘My kids are happy for us too and are looking forward to the arrival of their newest sibling!’ the Trainspotting actor added.

Kevin is also father to 15-year-old daughter, Iona, and 17-year-old son, Joseph who he shares with his ex-wife, Jane Parker. Baby Aidan is a first child for private chef Arielle.

‘There’s much to be grateful for and we’re thrilled for the adventures 2018 will bring us all!’ he concluded.

Kevin – who’s best known for playing Dr Owen Hunt in the hit US medical show – also went on to reveal a few details about the couple’s special day.

‘Close friends and family came together with my Grey’s family to share in our celebration day – an intimate, low key gathering culminating in a Scottish Ceilidh dance,’ he added.
