Good Morning Britain host Laura Tobin announces pregnancy live on air

Good Morning Britain's weather host, Laura Tobin, has delighted her co-hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid by revealing her first pregnancy live on air.

During the first weather segment of this morning's show, TV personality Laura went above and beyond her role as weather announcer by making a more personal announcement of her own.

'As we head into September, things will be blooming, but it won't just be my dress... I am having my own little ray of sunshine. Yes, I'm having a baby!' she exclaimed.

Her co-hosts cooed with excitement as she explained that only her closest friends and family knew of the happy news, and she'd decided to tell the rest of her network, including her work colleagues, by making the announcement on live television.

And it appeared that Susanna Reid was genuinely surprised by the lovely news, admitting after the reveal was made that she'd even shed a little tear!

Piers Morgan wasn't about to miss out on commenting on the news either, piping up with a suggestion for a baby name: 'Piers is a great name, you know...'.

This will be 35-year-old Laura's first child with husband Dean Brown, who she married in 2010. She joked that right now, her bump is looking more like a food baby, but confirmed that by the end of October she would be welcoming her little one into the world.

After the announcement, Laura expressed her joy that her baby news was top of the Twitter Moments panel on this morning's round up, and over the course of the day has been inundated with congratulatory tweets from fans.

'Aww that's wonderful news, Laura! Congratulations!' wrote one happy Twitter user, whilst another agreed: 'Such lovely news'.

'Thank you. Surprise-family, friends, colleges & viewers!! Phew I can finally say! 😍' Laura wrote in response to the congratulations.
