Gogglebox's George Gilbey welcomes his first child
The proud father took to Twitter to announce the birth
Gogglebox's Gilbey family have some lovely news to share - son George is now a dad!
The proud father announced the birth of his new arrival on Twitter, writing to his 105,000 followers, '7lb 2oz little girl. Born 17.16 😊❤️ Amelie Iris Gilbey x Big thanks to everyone (specially nannies) for your support 😘👍🏻 #perfect 💕'
Fans were quick to send their well wishes, with one exclaiming 'Congratulations! What a beautiful name! Xo', and another adding, 'Congratulations George and well done mum. Congrats to Linda and Pete on the birth of your wee granddaughter.'
George first confirmed the pregnancy in an exclusive interview with Heat magazine back in February, revealing that his girlfriend Gemma was due to give birth to their first child in June.
Mum Linda added that she was over the moon to become a grandmother, saying 'I'm ecstatic. I'm so, so excited.'
George has previously spoken about his relationship with Gemma, who he met at Ascot horse races in summer 2015. 'I met a lot of superficial girls who were all over me when I came out of the CBB house. It was terrible. But Gemma was so genuine,' he explained.
'After we'd been seeing each other for a week, she said, "It's nice going out and all that, but can't we just stay in together?" That's when I knew it was proper, because she wasn't just interested in being seen with me.'

Earlier this year, George, Linda and stepdad Pete, all from Essex, finally returned to our screens after being axed from the program in August 2014.
Channel 4 made the decision to cut the family, who live in Clacton-On-Sea, after son George agreed to take part in the 14th series of Celebrity Big Brother, which was rumoured could earn him up to £100,000.
George entering the CBB house
Producer Chantal Boyle made no bones about the fact 'it wouldn't work' if the 30 year old moved to rival Channel 5. And while George did make it to the finals of CBB, we were still disappointed that our Friday evenings would never be the same again.
Thankfully Channel 4 has had a change of heart and bringing back the whole family from next week on 19th February, to re-join the likes of Sandy and Sandra and our favourites Steph and Dom Parker.
Congratulations to to the Gilbey family, and fingers crossed we'll see little Amelie on the Gogglebox sofa soon!
