Ferne McCann breaks silence on ex Arthur Collins and says she'll raise baby daughter alone

The star is 'determined to provide the best possible future for her daughter'

Ferne McCann, who gave birth to her first child earlier this month, has broken her silence on ex Arthur Collins.

The former TOWIE star has kept quiet since welcoming her baby daughter Sunday, but she's decided to speak out after her ex boyfriend and father of her child, Arthur Collins, was found guilty of the acid attack which took place at a nightclub in East London in April.

In an official statement released on her behalf, the new mum revealed that she plans to raise her daughter alone.

The statement reads: 'Ferne's thoughts are of course with the innocent people caught up in the events at Mangle last April. No one should ever be faced with violence on a night out.

'Having given birth days ago, Ferne is focussing on being the best mother she can be. She long ago accepted that she would be doing this alone and is determined to provide the best possible future for her daughter.'

Ferne announced her pregnancy shortly after Arthur was arrested over the attack, back in April. At the time, the reality TV star released a similar statement in which she referred to Arthur as her ex boyfriend.

'Ferne is grateful for the sympathetic way news of her pregnancy has been covered and people's support and obviously her first concern is for her child's health', the statement read.

'Accordingly she does not wish to discuss the pregnancy further given the early stage it is at and the immense strain that Ferne is currently under.

'Nor does she wish to discuss her ex-boyfriend who she does not recognise from the events of the last week.'

The mum-of-one, who gave fans regular bump updates throughout her pregnancy, recently took to Instagram to announce the birth of her baby girl.

Alongside a snap of the mum and daughter duo, Ferne wrote: 'Welcome to the world my darling. Didn't expect to see you a week early 🙂. I'm so in love & bursting with pride. It's a girl 👶🏼💗💗💗'

Ferne has previously spoken out against the term 'single mum', saying that she doesn't want it to define her as a mother.

'I don't like the term single mum and I don't want to be addressed as that because I don't think you should be labelled. To me, I'm going to be a mum like anyone else, but just in a different situation. It shouldn't define you,' she told OK! Magazine.
