The Handmaid's Tale actress Yvonne Strahovski welcomes her first child
Yvonne Strahovski, star of the hit TV show The Handmaid’s Tale, has welcomed her first child with husband Tim Loden.
The 36-year-old actress announced the exciting news that she had welcomed a newborn baby son through Instagram on Monday.
‘My heart has melted into a billion pieces a thousand times already,’ she wrote. ‘We have been blessed with the greatest joy of our lives, our baby boy. Welcome to the world Peanut, your parents love you beyond measure and you are already my little dream boat. My heart has been stolen!’
Fans rushed to congratulate the star, who has appeared in TV shows Chuck, Dexter and 24: Live Another Day in the past.
One wrote: 'Ahhh congratulations, welcome to the best job in the world'; while another added: 'Waking up to this this morning made me so happy and emotional. Congratulations to your son! I’m beyond happy for you, this is wonderful!’
The Australian actress, who wed her long-time partner and now-husband in a secret ceremony last summer, revealed her pregnancy in the same way back in May.
Posting a picture on her Instagram page where she was showing off her growing bump in a clingy blush dress, Yvonne wrote: ‘I am very excited to finally be able to share my special news - I’m going to be a Mama! So very exciting to watch & feel this little Peanut growing every day!’

Fans were quick to congratulate her and many commented writing: ‘Blessed be the fruit!’, referring to plot of her latest TV series, The Handmaid’s Tale.
During her pregnancy, Yvonne revealed that she had been experiencing a rather peculiar pregnancy symptom.
Admitting in an interview with Channel 10, she said that she had ‘really gross […] excessive saliva’, for which she said she ‘had to carry around a little Spittoon’, which was ‘just horrendous’.
Let’s hope she didn’t have to deal with these weird common pregnancy cravings too!
Congratulations to Yvonne and her husband!
